Solstice Race

  • Rockland Yacht Club Rockland, ME (map)

Since the late 1990’s, the Rockland Yacht Club has held an annual race on the Saturday closest to the longest day of the year.  Aptly named the Solstice Race, this event is held around goverment marks in West Penobscot Bay. Racers can look forward to friendly, spirited competition and a chance to knock the rust from sailing skills and reflexes dulled by our long Maine winters.  Throw in a post-race BBQ and potluck at the Rockland Club House, with trophies awarded to Cruising, Racing Division 1, Racing Division 2 Classes and you have a recipe for loads of fun. This is the reward for those who get their boats in early and come out to mix it up!

Moorings:  RYC has two moorings for rent, first come, first served.  For additional moorings contact Journeys End (207) 594-4444, Ocean Pursuits (207) 596-7357 or Landings Marina (207) 596-6573. More Information
