The offer is open to skippers of racer/cruiser and one-design yachts(J24, Etchells, Sonar, Christmas Cove 21, Boothbay Harbor One Design among others) who have not been a member of GMORA in the past 5 years. What do you get? - A Free 2007 membership in GMORA... a $30.00 value
- A free "provisional" 7-day Gulf of Maine handicap certificate that you may use to enter any one GMORA sanctioned event in 2007.
- An opportunity to "seamlessly" obtain a valid 2007 PHRF-New England handicap certificate.
What are the other benefits? - For everyone, the opportunity to help "promote sailboat racing in the Gulf of Maine", to meet other new member sailors such as yourself, and to explore more of the beautiful coast of Maine,
- For racer/cruisers, the chance to develop your racing skills by sailing in GMORA racing or cruising classes and to build teamwork on your boat.
- For one-design (O/D) sailors, to join the increasing number of sailors who have found joy in level one-design racing, to race in GMORA racing and cruising classes when there are not enough of your O/D class to race level, and or just the option to participate in a handicap race no matter what may be going on with your O/D fleet.
How long will this great offer last? - This offer for free 2007 GMORA memberships and a provisional Gulf of Maine handicap certificate will expire no sooner than 1 June 2007.
- GMORA reserves the right to extend the deadline for applications beyond 1 June 2007.
What should you do to join in the fun? - Go to www.phrfne.org/page/566 on the internet and download the Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file and follow the instructions given for completing your application. Alternatively, from the same page, you may use the fillable form that can be completed on-line. In either case, make certain that you provide all the information requested.
- Ignore any request for money at this time. Should you later decide to obtain a valid 2007 PHRF-NE handicap certificate, your application will already be on file with GMORA and ready for processing. You will be asked to submit $20.00 before it can begin.
